Ayia Napa Ayia Napa. Also known as Agia Napa or Aiya Napa. Ayia napa before 1974 was a small fishing village. The a population of 300. Immediately after the Turkish invasion the village was turned into the main holiday place of Cyprus. Through, a rapid and uncontrolled development. ayia napa became very soon the most important tourist resort of Cyprus. Its population now exceeds 3000. Places of Interest 1) Cavo Greco – a national park with a stunning view from the cape Greco hill 2) Ayia Napa Medieval monastery – 500 years old monastery with an interesting story 3) Ayia Napa Harbour – The traditional Habrour of ayia napa where all the fish restaurants are 4) Harbour Beach – one of the most beautifull sandy beaches of Cyprus visited by families and people who want to relax 5) Nissi Beach – The perfect beach.
